Rachel "Rae" Hollander, age 102, of St. Louis, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel G. Hollander; mother and mother-in-law of Ronald L. (Claire "Cookie") Hollander, Allen G. (Lianne) Hollander of Jefferson City, Mo. and Edward (Kerry) Hollander of Columbia, Mo.; dear grandmother of Shelley (Chris) Ball, Shari Baron, Craig (Abby, MD) Hollander, MD, Lisa (Roy) Kramer, Yale (Shari) Hollander, Todd Hollander, Amy (Derek) Chuek, Gregg (Pam) Hollander and Paul (Christina) Hollander; great-grandmother of 20, great-great-grandmother of two; sister of Sol (the late Florence) Kozloff, Charles (Ruth) Kozloff, the late Louis (the late Rae) Kozloff, the late Simon (the late Esther) Kozloff and the late Benjamin Kozloff. Alfred H. Rustemeyer, age 84, of Linn, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at St Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. Alfred was born, July 5, 1929, in Linn, a son to the late Anton and Mary (Reinkemeyer) Rustemeyer. On May 5, 1956, Alfred was united in marriage to Loretta Ellebracht in St Louis. She survives of the home. Alfred was a graduate of Wellston High School in St Louis and worked a number of years for the A&P Grocery Stores as a produce manager. Alfred also served his country as a Marine during the Korean War. Alfred was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn and a member of the United Food and Commercial Worker Union. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his hobby farm and gardening. In addition to his wife, Alfred is survived by: two sons, John Rustemeyer of Linn and Dean Rustemeyer and his wife Amy of Jefferson City; one daughter, Cheryl Helmig and her husband Tim of Linn; two brothers, Clarence Rustemeyer of Belle and Paul Rustemeyer of St Louis; two sisters, Matilda Reid and her husband Don of Winamac, Ind. and Mary Ann Blair and her husband Jim of Linn; six grandchildren, Jasmine Rustemeyer, Bryan Helmig, Kyle Helmig, Shelley Helmig, Adam Rustemeyer and Nicole Grefrath; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Alfred was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Rustemeyer. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Morton Chapel in Linn. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2013, at St. George Catholic Church with Fr. John Schmitz as the celebrant. Marcella (Marcie) Pope, 91, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013, at Westphalia Hills in Westphalia, Mo. She was born June 19, 1922, in Chippewa County, Wis., a daughter of the late Jacob and Elizabeth (Swoboda) Rubenzer. On March 10, 1945, Marcie was united in marriage to Horace (Bud) Pope, who preceded her in death on January 23, 1994. Marcie worked in the dietary department of Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Los Angeles, Calif., and had also operated a restaurant in Fayette, Mo. She was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, playing bingo, and gardening. Marcie is survived by two sons: Edward Pope (wife Patricia) of Monroeville, Pa., and Larry Pope (wife Elizabeth) of Jefferson City, Mo.; six sisters: Sister Lucy Marie of Milwaukee, Wis., Mabel LaGesse of Bloomer, Wis., Beatrice Poirier of Chetek, Wis., Jeannette Schilling of Milwaukee, Wis., Betty Lou Bennesch of Bloomer, Wis., and Marie Clark of Bloomer, Wis. A Memorial Service will be held in Wisconsin at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Mary Lou Reed, 77, of Westphalia, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at St. Mary's Health Center. She was born December 4, 1935, in Jefferson City, Missouri, the daughter of the late Thomas Robert and Pauline (Harris) Howard. On June 3, 1995, she was united in marriage to Jerold Reed, who survives that the home. Mary was a 1954 graduate of Jefferson City High School. She was employed with Von Hoffman Press where she retired after 30 years of service. Mary was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Schubert. Mary loved to garden. She enjoyed traveling and cooking for her family and friends. Mary was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and NASCAR racing fan. Mary got to watch the final race of the season on Sunday rooting for her favorite driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. Along with her husband Jerry, she is survived by three step-children: Jeremy Reed (Margaret) of North Pole, Alaska, Johnathan Locke (Star) of Holts Summit and Jennifer Locke of Holts Summit; one sister: Jo Ann Brown of Jefferson City and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four siblings: Virginia Scheuler, Thomas Robert Howard Jr., Jerry Lee Howard and David Lee Howard. Mary Frances Deramus, age 90, passed away Monday, November 18, 2013, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center in Jefferson City, Missouri. She was born on October 11,1923, in Flat River, Missouri, the daughter of Mary Jane and John Bivins. She was married on July 31, 1940, to Murrill Kennon and they lived in the Lead Belt area until his death on December 11, 1978. She later married Lloyd Deramus on May 3, 1986, and lived in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, for a number of years before moving to the Jefferson City area. After Lloyd's death in 1999, Mary remained in Jefferson City to be near her children. She is survived by her sister, Thelma Kolaks of St. Louis; her son, Larry Kennon (Joann) of Millersburg, Missouri; her daughter, Frances Shipman (Jerry) of Jefferson City, Missouri; and her step-daughter, Carol Wenc (Bob) of Hancock, Michigan. Other survivors include 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Gladys Andahl; her son, Ron Kennon; and her grandson, Travis Kennon. Mary was a sweet, gentle spirit who returned a precious unconditional love to her family and friends. She will be sadly missed. Graveside service was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Park Hills, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, P.O. Donnetta Lynn Bess, 33, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013, in Jefferson City. She was born December 30, 1979, in Columbia, Missouri. She was a graduate of Douglas High School. On January 6, 2011, Donnetta was married in Jefferson City, to Dennis Bess, who survives at their home. Donnetta loved to dance and spend time with her children. She enjoyed being outdoors and sitting by a fire. She also enjoyed fishing and writing poetry. Donnetta is also survived by a daughter: Etelka Nevaeh VanWinkle-Vaughan; a son: Caleb Michael Vaughan; her mother and step-father: Bonnie and Roger Robinett; her father: Bobby Vaughan; a sister: Chasity Vaughan; a half-brother: Quinton Robinett; a step-brother: Ryan Robinett; four step-children: Kimberly Montgomery, Dennis R. Mrs. Erline Marie Steinbeck, age 80 years, of Jefferson City passed away Thursday, November 21, 2013, at her home surrounded by family. Erline was born on February 16, 1933, in Bem, Mo., the daughter of Louis and Pena Schultz Loeb. She was married on July 10, 1954, in Owensville, Mo. to Milton Steinbeck who survives at the home. Erline grew up around the Owensville area and was a graduate of Bland High School where she was one of thirteen students. A homemaker for the majority of her life, she took great pride supporting and taking care of her family. She was a very loving person that was always looking for ways to share that love with others. She was a member of Central United Church of Christ in Jefferson City and a past member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary. She cherished time dancing with her husband and spending time at her home farm in Bland, Mo. Survivors include: her husband of almost 60 years, Milton Steinbeck; one son, Greg Steinbeck and his wife Lori of Jefferson City; one daughter, Barb Hughes and her husband Randy of Jefferson City; four grandchildren, Rachel Steinbeck, Lindsey Steinbeck, Jared Steinbeck and Jamie McTeer; one step-granddaughter, Jill Herigon; two great-grandchildren, Laykin Thirlwall, and Brooks McTeer; and two step-great-grandchildren, Ethan Herigon, and Reese Herigon. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jerry Steinbeck on May 24, 1979; one brother, Walter Loeb; and one sister, Pauline Miller. He was born on March 12, 1946, in Jefferson City, Missouri to Joe and Nell (Kallenbach) Jarrett. Richard married Elaine Viets on August 13, 1966 in Fort Gordon, Georgia. He was stationed in Germany for two years while serving the Army/Military Police. After graduating from college, he was a Regional Sales Manager in the cosmetics industry for 20 years and went on to work at Home Depot for 17 years before retiring in 2011. Richard is survived by his wife, Elaine Viets of Frisco, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Robbie McClusky of Little Elm, Texas; grandchildren, Olivia McClusky and Jackson McClusky; brother, Roger Jarrett and wife Pat of Benton, Kentucky; brother-in-law, Mark Viets and wife Nancy of Kansas City, Kansas; nieces and nephews, Brian Jarrett, Lisa Jarrett, Jason Jarrett, Lori Phillips, Aaron Viets, Alexa Viets; and his beloved dog, Toby. She was born on June 7, 1918, in Rural Latham, Mo., the daughter of Rufus Hofstetter and Mona (Knife) Hofstetter. She was married December 1, 1934, in Tipton, Mo., to Hughie C. Thompson who preceded her in death on July 17, 1972. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in California, Mo. She worked at the Latham Hospital in California, and worked 27 years for Dr. Lionel Gallaghers office in California Mo. She was a graduate of the Latham High School. She is survived by two daughters: LaDonna Hand (Neil) of Keokuk, Iowa., Connie Hayes of Fort Worth, Texas.; four brothers, Don Hofstetter of California, Mo., Dale Hofstetter of Jefferson City, Mo., Ross Hofstetter of Boonville, Mo., and Kay Hofsetter of Tipton, Mo., four sisters: Delores Bestgen, Darlene Matthews of California, Mo., and Ramona Luebbert and Gene Coale of Jefferson City, Mo.; three grandchildren, Stefanie Wirths (Curtis) of Camdenton, Mo., Stuart DeLong of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Sara French (Michael) of Austin Texas; six great- grandchildren Keegan, Cale, McKenna Wirths of Camdenton, Arabella, William French of Austin Texas, Stella DeLong of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three step-grandchildren, Tony Hand and family of Alexandria, Mo., Diane Cunningham and family of Keokuk, Iowa., and James Hand and family of Keokuk, Iowa. He was a graduate of School of the Osage High School in Lake Ozark. John was manager of the cafeteria at the Missouri Capitol for a number of years and worked in Patient Food Service at St. Mary's Health Center until his retirement in 2001. He enjoyed gambling in Las Vegas and on Missouri's riverboat casinos and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals. He is survived by one son, Shaun Crisp of Largo, Florida; and two brothers: Perry Roland Crisp of Jefferson City and Cal Wayne Crisp of Norfolk, Virginia. Richard James Rippeto, 87, of Jefferson City, died Monday, November 18, 2013, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born on August 5, 1926, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Clay Rippeto and Lela Rippeto Kennedy. On May 14, 1949, he was united in marriage to Virginia Lee Harbur at Immaculate Conception Church in Maplewood, Mo. She survives at the home. Mr. Rippeto served in the United States Army Engineers during World War II. Upon his return, he was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in St. Louis, transferring to Central Missouri area in 1965, where he was employed until he retired in 1984. He enjoyed cattle farming, oil painting, and playing golf. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Janet (Dale) Branson, Jefferson City; Mark (Vicki) Rippeto, Excelsior Springs; Karl Rippeto, Lake Ozark; and three grandchildren, Adam Branson, Ross Branson, Patrick Rippeto. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and Paul Rippeto. Private services were held on Friday at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Chapel with Chaplain Jim Mueller officiating. John Joseph Zito, 86, formerly of Westphalia, Mo., died Friday, November 22, 2013, at Charlevoix Health Care in St. Charles, Mo. He was born on June 10, 1927, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of the late Leonardo and Frances Costa Zito. He was married on September 30, 1950, in Westphalia to Mary Louise Rehagen, who preceded him in death on December 16, 2002. Mr. Zito was retired from the Meco Company in St. Louis where he had been employed for 33 years. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, and the Westphalia Senior Citizens Club. Mr. Zito was a brother-in-law, cousin, uncle, great-uncle, great-great uncle, and friend to everyone he knew. Survivors include three sisters, Genevieve (Peter) Caleca, Fort Myers, Fla.; Phyllis (Albert) Flury, Chesterfield, Mo.; and Marie (John) Winders, Spring Branch, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Bess (Paul) Feise and Madeline (Larry) Breslin. Lynn Richardson Hudson, 59, of Columbia, passed away Monday, November 18, 2013, at her home. She was married February 8, 1974, to Albert Paul "Buddy" Hudson, who preceded her in death on November 7, 2013. Survivors include: her mother, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, friends, and her McMillin cousins, who will miss her and Buddy dearly. She was also preceded in death by her father. Reunited in Heaven, Lynn and Buddy are walking hand in hand, fishing hole to fishing hole, smiling and looking down on us all. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Raymond Harold Barger, 93, of Jefferson City, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Adams Street Place. He was born on September 15, 1920, in Cole County, the son of the late Virgil and Lydia Emma (Schwaller) Barger. Mr. Barger was a United States Navy veteran serving during World War II. While in the Navy he served in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters, participated in 13 sea battles and witnessed the signing of the Peace Treaty in Tokyo Bay. On August 11, 1944, in Jefferson City, he was united in marriage to Agnes Betreace Bunch who still survives. Mr. Barger worked for Missouri Power and Light Company for 34 years as a groundman and tree trimmer. He was a charter member and deacon of Memorial Baptist Church, Veterans of Foreign War, American Legion, and United Commercial Travelers. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Linda (Ray) Bledsoe, Jefferson City; Susan (John) Bosch, Jefferson City; Rebecca (Edward) Kniest, Jefferson City; five grandchildren, Shannon Bledsoe, Christopher Bledsoe Rainey, Jay Bosch, Stephanie Bosch, Andrew Kniest; one step-grandchild, Lisa Lasker; six great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Towns officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. John H. Center Sr., 93, of Holts Summit, Mo., formerly of Sullivan, Mo., passed away Friday, November 22, 2013, at Adams Street Place in Jefferson City, Mo., surrounded by family. John was born in Esther, Mo. to the late John Frank and Rosa Belle (Baker) Center. He and Alva Jarrells were married October 11, 1947, in Esther, Mo. She preceded him in death on November 14, 2006. John worked for Meramec Mining Company as a Surveyor. John was a member of the Sullivan Country Club and after retirement worked at the Country Club as a grounds keeper. Mr. Center served on both the Esther and Sullivan School Boards and was very active in high school sports. He received a distinguished service award from MSHSAA for 25 years of service as a clock keeper for Sullivan High School football games. He coached little league baseball in both Esther and Sullivan. John was a very avid sports fan enjoying all sports especially Missouri football and basketball and even taking up golf in his late 50's. John was also a very good carpenter able to build his own home and in his spare time enjoyed bird watching. John is survived by his son, John Center Jr. and wife Susie of Jefferson City, Mo.; a daughter, Mary Beth Schroer of Holts Summit, Mo.; five grandchildren, Erin Center, Brian and Kathy Center, Patrick and Erin Center, Cheryll Loethen and Jamie and Angie Bell; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife Alva, he was preceded in death by brothers, Leslie, Earl, Carroll, Everett and Charles Center and sisters, Esther Pratte and Nellie Williams. Funeral services will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Mo. on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Scott Perry officiating. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Carol Sawyer, 71, of Houston, Texas, passed away Friday, November 22, 2013, after suffering a heart attack. Carol was born July 31, 1942, in Joplin, Mo. She and her husband Ken lived and raised their family in Jefferson City, Mo. for nearly 30 years, before retiring to Houston in 2007. Carol was an active member of Cy-Fair Christian Church, involved in the women's ministry. She loved her family, especially her time with her grandkids. Carol is survived by her husband, Ken; sons, Jeff and Greg Sawyer; daughters-in-law, Gretchen and Liz Sawyer; grandkids, Hannah, Emma, Griffin and Haley Sawyer; brothers, Leon and Harold Hoofnagle, both of Joplin, Mo.; and sisters, Mary Stephens of Torrance, Calif. and Helen Wallace of Temecula, Calif. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 26, at 10:00 a.m. at Klein Funeral Home in Tomball, Texas with visitation Monday, November 25, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family asks that any memorial donations be made to Tanglewood Christian Camp.

Michael H. Dalton III, age 63, of Ashland, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2013. He was born June 7, 1950, in St. Louis, to Michael and Gloria Dalton. Mike, a veteran of the U.S. Army, served in Vietnam from May 1969 to October 1970. He spent 20 years in the telephone industry, 24 years in the title insurance business, and owner of Monarch Title Company. He was a 20+ year member of the Ashland Optimist Club and of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by his wife, Maureen; children, Jon Dalton and his wife Meagan, Amanda Ferreiro and her husband Dan, Jeffrey Ward of Ashland, Julie Haden and her husband Todd of Columbia, Michael H. Dalton IV and Daniel G. Dalton of Wentzville; siblings, Mary Reichman, Christopher Dalton, Mazie Dalton, Ann McLellan and her husband Bryan, Edward Dalton and his wife Monica, Theresa Mines and her husband Greg, and Joseph Dalton and his wife Jane; six grandchildren, Jesika, Olivia, Logan, Abby, Nolan, and Isabella. His father and mother preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 26, at 10 a.m. at Robinson Funeral Home in Ashland. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hartsburg. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Dalton Grandchildren College Fund, c/o Boone County National Bank in Ashland.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolee Seifert and son-in-law Ronald Seifert of Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren, Stephen Seifert and wife Eryn, Scott Seifert and wife Lori and Susan Asbill and husband Marcus of Dallas, Texas and five great- grandchildren, Erica Seifert, Kyle Seifert, Tate Seifert, Mitchell Seifert and Eden Asbill.
