Obituary for Irene Josephine Muenks

Irene Josephine Muenks, 75, of St. Martins, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital. She was born June 8, 1939, in Bonnots Mill, Missouri, the daughter of the late Joseph John and Opal Louise (Bonnot) Schmid. Irene was a 1957 graduate of Fatima High School in Westphalia, Missouri. She was united in marriage on April 9, 1967, at St. Louis of France Catholic Church in Bonnots Mill, Missouri, to Ronald Herbert Muenks who survives. A homemaker for most of her life, Irene volunteered at St. Martin School tutoring students. She was an active member of the St. Martin Parish where she was a member of the Quilting Club, Ladies Sodality, Prayer Line, funeral dinners committee, and Parish Council. For many years, Irene was in charge of making the gravy for the parish picnics. Irene was a talented seamstress and quilter who loved to embroider and crochet. She shared her talents by teaching 4-H members to crochet projects that took top honors at the State Fair. She also volunteered many years with the Helias Band Booster program maintaining the band uniforms. Irene also babysat for many children in the St. Martins area over the years. In addition to her husband, Irene is survived by three children, Michael (Anastasia) Muenks, California, Mo.; Rhonda Muenks, Jefferson City, Mo.; Joyce (Travis) Hoskins, St. Martins, Mo.; five grandchildren, Allison Muenks, Matthew Hoskins, Nathan Hoskins, Eva Muenks, Lucy Muenks; eight siblings, Arbell Vogel, Jefferson City, Mo.; Dorothy (Don) Welch, Jefferson City, Mo.; Emma Bonnot, Jefferson City, Mo.; Donald (Patricia) Schmid, Linn, Mo.; Vera (Don) Gerling, Jefferson City, Mo.; Ann (David) Groner, Berger, Mo.; Hilda (Leon) Eichholz, Wardsville, Mo.; Ruth (Albert) Miles, Indian Creek, Mo.; five in-laws, James (Mary Ann) Muenks, Edgewood, Wash.; Edgar (Judith) Muenks, Linn, Mo.; Mary Beth Ligibel, Florissant, Mo.; Robert (Shirley) Muenks, Jefferson City, Mo.; David Muenks, Lee's Summit, Mo.; and 57 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Rose Marie (Bernard) Dudenhoeffer; one brother, Leonard (Caroline) Schmid; and four brothers-in-law, Julius Vogel, Richard Lecure, Louis Bonnot, and Robert Ligibel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m., Friday, January 30, 2015, at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martins, Mo. with the Rev. Edwin A. Schmidt officiating. Hazel Mae Walker, 94, of Jefferson City, Mo., departed this world on Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at Villa Marie Nursing Home in Jefferson City. She was born in Enola, Ark., on August 13, 1920, the second of five children born to Lee Thurman Stivers and Floy Shock Stivers. Hazel was a member of the Centertown Baptist Church of 68t years. She excelled at sending cards and notes to her friends for all occasions. Hazel's "Southern Cooking" was always in high demand and she considered everyone a friend after only one introduction. Survivors include one daughter, Wanda Arks Strong of Conway, Ark.; two sons, Thurman A. Walker of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Jack D. Walker of Jefferson City, Mo. She was also blessed with six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Annie Mathews of North Little Rock, Ark. , Doris Cory of Vilonia, Ark., and Erma Jean Olds of Tulsa, Okal.; one brother, Joe Stivers of North Little Rock, Ark.; and also her loving husband of 52 years, Truman Walker. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015 at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 12, 2015 at the funeral home. Jack D. Gilmore, 85, of Columbia, Mo., passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015, in Columbia. He was born on May 15, 1929, in Boone County, Mo., the son of Mamie (Bradley) and Harry Gilmore. Jack married Bessie Olsan on March 6, 1955, in Columbia, Mo. He spent his entire life in the Boone County area and was a member of IBEW Local 257. Jack served during the Korean War from 1951-1953.Jack enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family. Survivors include: his wife, Bessie; sons, Mark (Emily) Gilmore, Kevin Gilmore; grandchildren, Justin (Pam) Gilmore, Courtney Gilmore, Collin Gilmore, Joshua Gilmore; and sister, Peggy (Jack) Rhoades; brothers, James (Betty) Gilmore and Bradley Gilmore. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Margaret Wood, Forestine Wallace and an infant sister, Meddy Lorraine Gilmore; and one brother, Albert Ray Gilmore Sr. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home. Joseph O'Connor Sr., 79, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital. He was born on June 22, 1935 in Hammond, Ind., son of the late James and Mary (Achs) O'Connor. He was united in marriage on October 19, 1957, in Riverdale Ill., to Nancy Vena who survives at the home. Joe graduated from St. Willibrord High School in Chicago and then joined the Army. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a firefighter/paramedic for the Chicago Fire Department retiring after 37 years of service. Joe was one of the first firefighters to serve as a paramedic and toward the end of his career he also served on the fire boat. He was a member of the Church of Annunciata Catholic Church in Chicago, Ill., was a Fourth Degree Member in the Knights of Columbus in Trinity Council, and a member of the Secular Order of Servants of Mary. Joe was very active in the Cub Scouts; he loved visiting Las Vegas with his wife, was a story teller, a jokester and loved doing his card tricks. He appeared in the movie "Backdraft" on the Chicago fire boat. Joe was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with his wife, Nancy, of 58 years, he is survived by his children: James (Betty) O'Connor of Jefferson City, Joseph (Delia) O'Connor Jr. of Chicago, Ill., and Kathryn (Brian) Stevenson of Germantown, Tenn.; nine grandchildren: James O'Connor III, Danielle Rivera, Allen O'Connor, Katie O'Connor, Joseph O'Connor, Jeffrey O'Connor, Krystina O'Connor, Kelsey Stevenson and Cole Stevenson; seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Joe was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey O'Connor. Family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Memorial service will follow at 2:00 with Chaplain Jim Mueller officiating. Burial will be private for the family. Richard "Rich" Harold Donehue, 80, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing. He was born October 17, 1934, in Frankenstein, Missouri, the son of the late Peter Francis and Anna Agnes (Nilges) Donehue. He was a 1954 graduate of Linn High School. Richard served in the Missouri National Guard for five and one half years after his six-month basic training. Richard began his work career in Linn with Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Services. After 10 years with ASCS, he attended LaSalette Seminary in St. Louis for four months. Richard then went to the Missouri Highway Department as an auditor in the Bridge Division where he worked for 26 years. He then transferred to Fiscal Services where he worked for four years, retiring in 1997 with 30 years of service. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where he participated with fund raising projects, served as a communion minister, and volunteered for the funeral luncheons. Richard was a member and officer in the Linn Jaycee Organization, served as District Vice President and Linn President as well as other positions throughout the years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 5 in Jefferson City. Richard was active in the Jefferson City Little Theatre for many years. He also volunteered at Samaritan Center. He loved to socialize and visit with his friends at the American Legion and Mel's Diner. One of Richard's favorite trips was to Ireland. Richard is survived by two siblings, Donald (Patrice) Donehue, Jefferson City, and Eula Schepers, Jefferson City; 30 nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Jeannette Luetkemeyer and Dorothy Vogel; five brothers, Patrick Donehue, Daniel Donehue, A.C. "Pete" Donehue, Robert Donehue, Lincoln Donehue; and two nephews, Peter Donehue and Bobby Donehue. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Monday, February 2, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. George Kramer officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Lucille Fern Bascom, age 84, of Chamois, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at Linn Community Skilled Care. Lucille was born September 17, 1930, in Chamois, a daughter to the late Henry and Thelma (Wohlgemuth) Nichols. Lucille was a 1948 graduate of Chamois High School and worked as a secretary for the Langenberg Hat Factory as well as being a licensed insurance agent for the Chamois Mutual Insurance Company for a number of years. She also worked for the Osage County Assessor's office as a secretary before retiring. Lucille was united in marriage to Chester Bascom on May 24, 1969, in Chamois. He preceded her in death on July 28, 2005. Lucille was a member of Linn Family Worship Center and enjoyed reading, collecting sets of dishes and bird watching. Lucille is survived by: three sister-in-laws, Patsy Nichols of Chamois, Judy Nichols of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Pearl (Bascom) Weirich of Holts Summit; two nieces, Rebecca (Chris) Layton of Linn and Sarah Nichols of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two nephews, Glenn Nichols of Linn and David Nichols of Newnan, Ga.; four great-nieces, Ashley, Stephanie, Hannah and Elizabeth; two great-nephews, Trevor and Dustin and one great-great- nephew, Brandon. In addition to her parents and husband of 36 years, Lucille was preceded in death by one sister, Henrietta Hoffman; one brother, Delmar Nichols; and a nephew, Kevin Nichols. William E. "Gene" Ash, 77, California, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2015, at the Moniteau Care Center in California, Mo. Gene was born May 26, 1937, in Moniteau Co., to William P. Ash, and Martha Mae Heather, who preceded him in death. He was married on May 25, 1957, to Judy Rohrbach who survives at the home. He was a longtime member of the U.C.C. Church and served on Consistory. Gene worked as a foreman with the Painters Union Local Kansas City, and St. Louis, Massman Construction, and also with MODOT. Gene was a member of the Masonic Lodge 183 of California, Mo., also Charter Member of the California Eagles 4027. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, and being with family and friends. Gene is survived by his wife, Judy; one son: Doug Ash and wife Rita of California, Mo.; one daughter-in-law: Barb Ash of Hillsboro, Ohio.; one granddaughter: Amber Hollis and husband Mike; two great-grandchildren: Trevor and Lauren Hollis of Brighton, Mich. He is preceded in death by two sons: Daryl Ash, and David Ash; one brother: Robert Ash and two sisters: Marjorie Oerly, and Ruth Elliott. She was born on December 5, 1966, in Syracuse, New York, a daughter of Frank Volta and Loretta Smith Felker. She was united in marriage to Kevin J. Eveler on December 31, 2010 in Elston, Missouri. Shawn was a homemaker and a taxi driver for Checkered Cab for many years. Her hobbies were cooking, fried chicken and pizza were her favorite dishes. She enjoyed being on the computer and spending time with the ones she loved. She is survived by her husband, Kevin J. Eveler of Centertown; two sons, Caelin Jacob Eveler of Jefferson City and James Blake of Springfield, West Virginia; her father, Frank Volta of Tallahassee, Florida; her mother, Loretta Smith Felker and husband, Charles Felker of Sarasota, Florida; two sisters, Kathy Revette and husband Kevin of New York and Laura Felker of Springfield, West Virginia; one brother-in-law, Robert Eveler and wife Debbie of Jefferson City; one aunt, Linda Randall of Syracuse, New York; two uncles, Phillip Smith and Fred Smith both of Syracuse, New York; two nieces, Amber Smith and Ashley Smith; two nephews, Stephen Smith and Cory Smith; great-nieces, great-nephews, numerous relatives and many friends. Mr. Robert C. Beatty, age 86 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015, at his home. He was born on October 9, 1928, in East St. Louis, Ill., a son of James Alfred and Fern (Brown) Beatty. He was married in 1948 in East St. Louis to Virginia Crain, who preceded him in death. Bob graduated from East St. Louis Senior High and received his Bachelors degree from Washington University in St. Louis. After graduation Bob taught history for a brief time at Rock Junior High School in East St. Louis, Ill., but he switched careers, successfully completed a tool and dye apprenticeship program at Emerson Electric and worked in Illinois and St. Louis, Mo. until he retired in 1993. After retirement, Bob moved to Jefferson City in 2006 to be closer to family, especially his grandchildren. Bob was a huge history buff with emphasis in Ancient Middle Eastern history. Bob was fascinated by how he thought modern geo-politics has been influenced by those ancient societies. He also engaged in numismatic research and retained quite the coin collection. Survivors include: his brother, Frank Beatty and his wife Josephine of Granite City, Ill.; his grandson-in-law, Lance Dugan and his wife, Amanda of Columbia, Mo.; and his great-granddaughter, Isabella Dugan. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Virginia; his two daughters, Elizabeth Beatty and Barbara Beatty; and his granddaughter, Julia Dugan. Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 7, 2015. Mrs. Maurine B. Shull, age 97 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Friday, January 30, 2015, at the Capital Region Medical Center. She was born August 30, 1917, in Jefferson City, Mo., the daughter of the Missouri Supreme Court Judge Walter H. and Lellie G. Erhardt Moore Bohling. She was married on April 5, 1943, at the First Methodist Church in Jefferson City, Mo. to Dr. George Donald Shull, M.D., who preceded her in death on September 16, 2005. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Maurine graduated from Smith Cotton High School in Sedalia, Mo. She went on to attend Jefferson City Junior College and later received her bachelor's degree with a double major in English and Art from the University of Missouri - Columbia. Maurine began her professional career as an art teacher at the Mexico High School in Mexico, Mo. After a few years, she moved back to Jefferson City to teach art in the Jefferson City Public Schools until she married Dr. Shull. She became a housewife after they started a family and was a proud mother raising four children. When the time was right, she returned to the Jefferson City High School to teach art until her retirement in 1970. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, a member of the Chapter JV of PEO, a member of the Olive Dallmeyer Music Club, a member and past president of the Century Study Club, and was a lifelong member of the Jefferson City Art Club. She was also involved in many other community activities including the Jefferson City School P.T.A. and was active in Boy Scouting. Maurine was a woman of faith who enjoyed playing golf, tennis, and swimming. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family. Survivors include: one daughter, Jean Maurine Shull of Jefferson City, Mo.; three sons, Donald Bohling Shull (wife Janet) of Fort Worth, Texas, Walter Bohling Shull (wife Mary Elizabeth Knight) of Tebbetts, Mo. and George Robert Shull (wife Nancy) of Jefferson City, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Shawn Bohling Shull (wife Sheri), Scott Donald Shull (wife Stephanie G.), Stephanie Michelle Shull, Robert Walton Shull (wife Ashley), Brian Knight Shull (wife Patricia), Sara Elizabeth Kerperin (husband Kevin), and Kimberly Jean Ownbey (husband Ryan); 10 great-grandchildren, Baylee Christine Shull, Carlee Marie Shull, Alyx Nicole Shull, Kaylee Elizabeth Shull, Hunter Maxwell Shull, Megan Elizabeth Shull, Garrett Patrick Shull, Braden Archer Shull, Hayden James Ownbey and Jackson Robert Kerperin; and one nephew, John Walter Bohling (wife Patty) of California. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother, Dr. Walter Henry Bohling. Margaret "Margie" E. Janson, age 58, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at her residence. Margie was born September 8, 1956, in Jefferson City, a daughter to the late Albert Henry Rudroff and Helen Dorothy (Grellner) Rudroff who survives of Rich Fountain. Margie was a 1974 graduate of Fatima High School. On March 2, 1979, she was united in marriage to James "Jim" Janson in St. Joseph, Missouri. He survives at their home in Ashland. Margie was employed with the State of Missouri, Division of Family Services, for 35 years until her retirement in 2013. Currently she was employed with Home Instead Senior Care as a caretaker for the elderly. Margie was a nature lover who enjoyed housing and feeding all types of birds especially hummingbirds and enjoyed growing flowers. Margie loved her dogs and collected Willow Angels. She was a very neat and organized person who loved to sew, cook and bake. Margie was very gentle and soft spoken, always smiling and thoughtful of others. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her spouse of 35 years and her mother, Margie is survived by: her step-daughter, Melissa Janson of Moberly; two step-grandchildren, Jordan and Madison; eight siblings, Pat Ward and her husband David of Camdenton, Kathy Wolfe and her husband Kary of Linn, Frank Rudroff, Jo Ann Rudroff, and Bob Rudroff all of Rich Fountain, Jackie McCoy and her husband Jim, Janet Farris and her husband Nick, and Mary Kempker and her husband Nathan all of Jefferson City; mother-in-law, Geneieve Janson of Lexington, S.C.; two sisters-in-law, Judy Whisenand and her husband Ernest of Higbee and Barbara Stewart and her husband Carl of Sapulpa, Okla.; one brother-in-law, Thomas Janson and his wife Brenda of Lexington, S.C., and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her father, Margie is preceded in death by her father-in-law, Eric Janson. Mr. Bruce T. Tharp, age 69 years, of Mary's Home, Mo., died Friday, January 30, 2015, at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital, Columbia, Mo. Bruce was born January 7, 1946, in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Smith and DeLoris Main Tharp. As a child of a Navy family, he lived in several locations including Samoa, Key West, Midway Island, and Bermuda. Bruce graduated from Imperial Beach High School, San Diego, Calif. He served in the United States Army as a Combat Medic during the Vietnam Conflict. He was awarded a Bronze Star with Valor. Bruce was employed as a Mail Handler with the United States Post Office in Orlando, Fla. for 20 years prior to his retirement in 2005. He enjoyed fishing, snow skiing and coin collecting. Survivors include: five children, James Tharp and his wife Melodie of Jefferson City, Mo., Timothy Tharp and his wife Lisa of Jefferson City, Mo., Cindy Murphy and her husband Matt of Jupiter, Fla., Terry Tharp and his wife Mandy of Edmond, Okla., and Jonathan Tharp and his wife Michelle of Boise, Idaho; three brothers, Gary Tharp of Longwood, Fla., Francis Tharp and his wife Marge of Indianapolis, Ind., and Stephen Tharp and his wife Chang of Seoul, South Korea; and 13 grandchildren, Esther Tharp, Cora Tharp, Timothy Tharp, George Tharp, Alexander Tharp, Lillian Tharp, Ariella Tharp, Joseph Tharp, James Tharp, Eliana Tharp, Kayden Tharp, Lauraina Tharp, and Grace Murphy. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Dr. Robert Michael Malone, 88, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, January 31, 2015, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico, Missouri. He was born November 14, 1926, in Phelps County near Newburg, Missouri, the son of the late Michael Robert and Anna Irene (Wilson) Malone. He was united in marriage on December 2, 1950, in Paragould, Arkansas, to Sarah Argentine Barr, who survives. Dr. Malone graduated high school from the United States Armed Forces Institute in Florida in 1948. He holds college degrees from the University of New York, Baptist Christian College, Lincoln University, and the University of North Carolina. Dr. Malone served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II, Vietnam Era, and the Korean Conflict. He was wounded in World War II. He received 28 decorations and awards including the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He retired from the Air Force in 1966 with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. Dr. Malone worked as a manufacturing Engineer for Emerson Electric, was an Academic teacher, Adjunct Professor, Vocational Counselor, and nursing home administrator. He retired January of 1990 from the state of Missouri. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church and served as an ordained deacon, member of the American Legion, life member of the Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars, charter member of the Air Force Sergeants Association, former member of the Exchange Club in Paragould, Ark.; member of the Masonic Lodge in Fulton, and was a 32 Degree Scottish Rite Mason in Columbia. Dr. Malone is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sarah Argentine Malone, Jefferson City; three daughters, Beverly (Keith) Benton, Kingman, Ariz.; Pamela Malone, Raytown, Mo.; Terri Jo Elliott, Holts Summit; two sons, Robert (Michelle) Malone, Jefferson City; Jim (Joyce) Malone, Neosho, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Molly Smith, St. Louis; Linda Roberson, Dixon, Mo.; Charlotte Morgan, Waynesville, Mo.; and James (Ruth Ann) Malone, Dixon, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Elizabeth Nikrik; three sisters, Minnie Davis, Alta Parker, Reba Wells; and two brothers, Lloyd Malone and Pat Malone. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at Concord Baptist Church with Dr. Monte Shinkle officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. She was born on December 5, 1966, in Syracuse, N.Y., a daughter of Frank Votra and Loretta Smith Felker. She was united in marriage to Kevin J. Eveler on December 31, 2010, in Elston, Mo. Shawn was a homemaker and a Taxi driver for Checkered Cab for many years. Her hobby was cooking, fried chicken and pizza were her favorite dishes. She enjoyed being on the computer and spending time with the ones she loved. She is survived by: her husband, Kevin J. Eveler of Centertown; two sons, Caelin Jacob Eveler of Jefferson City and James Blake of Springfield, W.V.; her father, Frank Volta of Tallahassee, Fla.; her mother, Loretta Smith Felker and husband, Charles of Sarasota, Fla.; two sisters, Kathy Revette and husband Kevin of N.Y. and Laura Felker of Springfield, W.V.; one brother-in-law, Robert Eveler and wife Debbie of Jefferson City; one aunt, Linda Randall of Syracuse, N.Y.; two uncles, Phillip Smith and Fred Smith, both of Syracuse, N.Y.; two nieces, Amber Smith and Ashley Smith; two nephews, Stephen Smith and Cory Smith; and great-nieces, great-nephews, numerous relatives and many friends. Ross Nichols, 41, of Columbia, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2015, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He battled brain cancer with grace, dignity and bravery for over three years. Ross was born on March 20, 1973, in Jefferson City, a son of Deborah (Schwehn) and James Nichols. Ross married the love of his life, Nicole Rackers, on November 25, 2000. Ross graduated from Jefferson City Senior High School, continued his education at Coffeeville Community College (golf scholarship) and later at Pittsburg State College in Pittsburg, Kan. Ross and Nicole loved tailgating, traveling, enjoying time with friends and raising their two amazing boys. He was loved by his family, friends and his coworkers at the Missouri Trucking Association. Tom Kolb, a colleague of Ross' had this to say about Ross, "There was no other lobbyists like him that walked the halls of Jefferson City. I guarantee every legislator felt comfortable when they conversed with Ross. He had a sincere and trustworthy way about his Capitol job". Ross was a man of faith and an exceptional father. He raised his sons, Noah and Henry, to develop personal relationships with God and the community of Our Lady of Lourdes. Ross loved spending time with his sons, fishing, playing catch, golfing, camping and coaching their baseball teams. Whether he was playing golf, fishing or drafting his fantasy football team, Ross was constantly surrounded by friends whom he treated like family. The support of the community and friends during his battle with cancer is a true testament to his character. Ross's memory will be carried on by: his loving wife, Nicole Nichols of Columbia, Mo.; two sons, Noah Nichols and Henry Nichols, both of Columbia, Mo.; his parents, Deborah and James (Jim) Nichols of Jefferson City, Mo.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Al and Hedy Rackers of Columbia, Mo.; two sisters, Jill Nichols of Jefferson City, Mo. and Leigh (Jimmy) Johnson of Gilroy, Calif.; one brother-in-law, Jerome (Cheryl) Rackers of Columbia, Mo.; and nieces and nephews, Emily Rackers, Cory Rackers, Maddie Johnson and Connor Johnson.
